The Bali Provincial Public Museum which is locally famous as ‘Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali’ is the oldest museum on the island. It houses more than 10,000 exhibits and the main building of the museum has the stunning Balinese architecture and its location site, as well as the adjacent square was also the historical site of the Badung War in 1906 at the time of the invasion of Denpasar by Dutch. The museum has three separate pavilions known asTabanan, Karangasem, and Buleleng that are named after Bali’s regencies. All the three accommodates a collection of ceramics, porcelain statues, art, ethnography, agricultural tools, weapons, ritual tools, paintings, wayangkulit (shadow puppets) and more.
